Help with connecting and controlling your Mac.

Your first connection

• Install the MacSway companion on your Mac (download from macsway.com) and MacSway on your iPhone. Connect both to the same Wi-Fi network.
• On the iPhone, open the device chooser, tap Search Devices and select your Mac.
• Accept the pairing request on the Mac, then enter the six-digit code shown there on your iPhone.
• Allow Accessibility (control) and Screen Recording (live screen) for the companion in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
• MacSway remembers paired devices; you do not need a new code every time.

The mouse or keyboard does not work

On the Mac, allow MacSway under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Screen Sharing also needs Screen Recording. Restart the companion if macOS asks you to.

Do I need Tailscale?

No. Local Wi-Fi works without a VPN. Remote access (outside your home network) is optional and needs Tailscale configured on both devices; it is a Pro feature.

How do I control the Mac with Screen Sharing?

Tap to click, slide one finger to move the cursor, tap with two fingers to right-click, pinch to zoom, slide two fingers to scroll.

Can MacSway wake my Mac?

Rest Mode keeps the Mac reachable while the display is off. Waking from full system sleep, a closed lid or shutdown is not guaranteed and depends on your Mac, power and network settings.

Lost phone

Revoke the phone in the MacSway menu on your Mac. Removing a Mac from the iPhone only removes its local connection information.

Purchases

MacSway Pro is bought through the App Store (monthly, yearly or one-time). Restore purchases in Settings; manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. We cannot refund Apple purchases; request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
